What is the best Punch Needle Embroidery tool?

I am looking to start doing embroidery Punch needle. I was wondering which needle brand you would recommend and why? I’m looking for something easy to hold in my hand and use and that can do several stitches. Could you attach estimated prices for the needle too please.
Thanks!

In my opinion, the best punch needle is “Pretty punch.” The company is now out of business, but you can usually find one on e-bay. This needle is adjustable in length, and has a thread holder on the back, which allows the thread to reel off as you use it. I have tried several and I like this one best. The cost is variable depending on the e-bay seller.

George Your Questions About Embroidery Stitching Tool

George asks…

I need help with an embroidery thread stains on fabric after I take the thread out.?

I embroidery large purple letters on my project and then dicovered a defect in the project so I am taking out the letters, but there is a trace of purple still apperent. The fabric is a cross stitch 14 count I beleive, it was originaly whitek, but I died it taupe with a fabric die from the store. I want to know how to get the purple traces out, so I can re-embroider the purple in a slightly different place. I can not wash the entire project since it has embroidery elsewhere. But I can hand wash this part. I want to know if there is any soap to use, or tool. thanks.

I looked through my cross stitch reference books and the only mention of staining says to keep rinsing the piece in cool to luke warm water only-no soap. It seems no thread companies want to admit there can be bleeding of their floss. I couldn’t find anything else. Don’t wring your fabric out or make any kind of wrinkles in it or you’ll have more problems. When the stains rinse out (hopefully), put your piece between two towels to sop up the water and let the piece dry naturally-no dryer. I do full coverage cross stitch so if I have to rip out, I’m just restitching, so bleeding is no problem for me. I’m sorry I couldn’t be of more help.

Robert Your Questions About Embroidery Stitching Tool

Robert asks…

What would be the essentials for a hand sewing/embroidery kit for a VERY creative 11 year old?

i have an 11 yr old niece living far away that has mentioned *several* times over the past year that she wants to sew and art quilt. although her mother is bright and has other talents, she’s self admittedly truly useless at ANY kind of creative handwork–so no help there. her dad is deployed in the mid-east til april or may and he CAN sew or do almost anything with his hands. however, i want to send her a packet of goodies with some fairly easy projects she can do by hand on her own learning simple embroidery stitches and simple hand sewing techniques that she’ll need even when she gets a machine. when her father returns, i’ll go for a few weeks, buy her a good machine and teach her enough to get going. i am such a tool/toy/material junkie that i don’t have any perspective and am afraid of overwhelming her (and her minimalist mother). what are your suggestions? she is extremely creative and taught herself to loom knit at age 8. are there any good websites she/we can turn to for instruction or easy and well explained projects? i’ve been doing this so long, i don’t even really remember what the basics are.

Embroidery is really good. Perhaps starting her with a long stitch kit would be good there are plenty on the market anchor and dmc have some really good ones.

Counted cross stich is another easy one to begin with loads of beginners kits. Perhaps she could make her dad a christmas card.
